EU AND EURO AREA CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, JUNE 2021

Year-over-year (Jun 2021 vs Jun 2020)

The inflation rate moved down 0.1 percentage point to 2.2% in the European Union and moved down 0.1 percentage point to 1.9% in the Euro Area in June 2021.

Among member states, the fastest inflation was reported in Hungary, Poland and Estonia while the lowest inflation was reported in Greece, Malta and Portugal.
 Annual inflation increased in 26 member states and declined in 1 member state.

Food price inflation moved up to 0.3% in the European Union and moved up to 0.1% in the Euro Area.
 

Energy inflation moved down to 12.2% in the European Union and moved down to 12.6% in the Euro Area.

Excluding the impacts of volatile energy, food, alcohol and tobacco prices, inflation moved down to 1.2% in the European Union and moved down to 0.9% in the Euro Area.

 

Note:

Canada and Nova Scotia June 2021 CPI figures will be released on July 28, 2021.
