EU AND EURO AREA CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, JULY 2021

Year-over-year (Jul 2021 vs Jul 2020)

The inflation rate moved up 0.3 percentage point to 2.5% in the European Union and moved up 0.3 percentage point to 2.2% in the Euro Area in July 2021.

Among member states, the fastest inflation was reported in Estonia, Poland and Hungary while the lowest inflation was reported in Italy, Greece and Malta.

Annual inflation increased in all member states.

Food price inflation moved up to 1.5% in the European Union and moved up to 1.4% in the Euro Area.

Energy inflation moved up to 14.0% in the European Union and moved up to 14.3% in the Euro Area.

Excluding the impacts of volatile energy, food, alcohol and tobacco prices inflation moved down to 1.0% in the European Union and moved down to 0.7% in the Euro Area.
