EURO AREA CURRENT ACCOUNT, JULY 2021

Month over month (Jul 2021 vs Jun 2021, seasonally adjusted)

The European Central Bank reported today that the Euro Area (EA19) current account surplus narrowed by €224 million to €21.6 billion.

  • Exports of goods and services increased €6.6 billion to €286.3 billion
  • Imports of goods and services increased €7.4 billion to €254.0 billion

As a result, net trade surplus narrowed by €765 million to €32.2 billion

Net goods surplus widened by €4.0 billion to €25.8 billion

  • Goods exports increased €3.8 billion to €208.0 billion while
  • Goods imports decreased €207 million to €182.3 billion

Net services surplus narrowed by €4.7 billion to €6.5 billion.

Net primary income surplus widened by €565 million to €3.2 billion

Net secondary Income deficit widened by €21 million to €13.9 billion
