EU AND EURO AREA UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, AUGUST 2021

The Euro Area (19 countries) unemployment rate was 7.5% in August 2021, a decline from 7.6% in the previous month. 

For the broader European Union (27 countries), unemployment rate declined to 6.8% in August 2021 from 6.9% in July. 

Among major European economies, the unemployment rate was highest in Spain, Greece and Italy. The lowest unemployment rates were recorded in Czechia, the Netherlands and Malta.
