In Nova Scotia,
- Labour force increased 0.3% (1,600) to 508,800
- Employment edged up (200) to 466,700
- Unemployment increased 3.4% (1,400) to 42,100
- Unemployment rate increased 0.3 percentage points to 8.3%.
In Canada,
- Labour force decreased 0.1% (25,000) to 20,528,000
- Employment increased 0.2% (31,200) to 19,162,400
- Unemployment decreased 4.0% (56,200) to 1,365,600
- Unemployment rate decreased 0.2 percentage points to 6.7%.
In Halifax, (3-month moving average)*
- Labour force increased 0.3% (800) to 257,500
- Employment increased 0.8% (2,000) to 240,700
- Unemployment decreased 6.7% (1,200) to 16,800
- Unemployment rate decreased 0.5 percentage points to 6.5%
