US TRADE BALANCE, NOVEMBER 2021

Month over month (Nov-21 vs. Oct-21)

The U.S. Census Bureau and the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis announced today that the month-over-month trade deficit widened by $13.0 billion to $80.2 billion. The goods trade deficit widened by $15.1 billion to $99.0 billion, and the services trade surplus widened by $2.1 billion to $18.8 billion.

Total exports increased 0.2% (+$0.4 billion) to $224.2 billion. Exports of goods decreased 1.8% (-$2.9 billion) to $155.9 billion and exports of services increased 5.0% (+$3.2 billion) to $68.3 billion.

Total imports increased 4.6% (+$13.4 billion) to $304.4 billion. Imports of goods increased 5.1% (+$12.3 billion) to $254.9 billion, and imports of services increased 2.3% (+$1.1 billion) to $49.5 billion.

 

Year over year (Nov 2021 vs. Nov 2020)

In the United States, the trade deficit widened by $12.9 billion. The goods deficit widened by $12.8 billion and, the services surplus narrowed by $0.1 billion.

Total exports increased 21.1% (+$39.0 billion). Exports of goods increased 23.0% (+$29.2 billion) and exports of services increased 16.9% (+$9.9 billion).

Total imports increased 20.6% (+$51.9 billion). Imports of goods increased 19.7% (+$41.9 billion) and imports of services increased 25.3% (+$10.0 billion).
