January 21, 2022UK RETAIL SALES, DECEMBER AND ANNUAL 2021 The UK Office for National Statistics reports that UK retail sales in December 2021:
- Month over month (Dec 2021 vs Nov 2021) retail sales values decreased 3.1% while the retail sales volume (adjusted for price changes) decreased 3.7%.
- Year-over-year (Dec 2021 vs Dec 2020) retail sales values increased 5.7% and retail sales volumes declined 0.9%.
- Annual (2021 vs 2020) retail sales values increased 8.0% and retail sales volumes increased 5.3%.
Internet sales
- Month over month (Dec 2021 vs Nov 2021) retail sales decreased by 1.8%. Online sales share of all retail sales declined 0.3 percentage points to 26.6%.
- Online sales share of all retail sales increased 7.0 percentage points over February 2020 (19.6%).
