EU AND EURO AREA RETAIL TRADE, FEBRUARY 2022

 

Month-over-month (Feb 2022 vs. Jan 2022, seasonally adjusted turnover value)

In the European Union, retail sales were up 1.3%. In the Euro Area, retail sales were up 1.4%.

 

Year-to-date (Jan-Feb 2022 vs. Jan-Feb 2021, seasonally adjusted turnover value)

In the European Union, retail sales were up 8.4%. In the Euro Area, retail sales were up 7.7%. Where data is available, the strongest growth in year-to-date retail sales occurred in Slovenia (25.3%, Jan 22 vs. Jan 2021), Lithuania (21.6%) and Bulgaria (17.0%). The weakest growth was reported in Germany (4.1%), Denmark and Finland (both 4.9%) .
