April 21, 2022EU AND EURO AREA CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, MARCH 2022 Year-over-year (March 2022 vs March 2021)
The inflation rate moved up to 7.8% in the European Union and to 7.4% in the Euro Area in March 2022.
The fastest inflation was reported in Lithuania (+15.6%) and Estonia (+14.8%) and the lowest inflation rates were in Malta (+4.5%) and France (+5.1%).
Food price inflation increased to 6.9% in the European Union and to 5.8% in the Euro Area.
Energy inflation increased to 40.2% in the European Union and 44.4% in the Euro Area.
Excluding the impacts of energy, food, alcohol and tobacco prices inflation increased to 3.6% in the European Union and 2.9% in the Euro Area in March.
