JAPAN CURRENT ACCOUNT AND TRADE BALANCE, APRIL 2022

Current Account (April 2022 vs. March 2022)

The net current account surplus narrowed by 10,444 billion yen to 5,115 billion yen.

  • The net goods and services deficit widened by 3,664 billion yen to 13,955 billion yen.
  • The net primary income surplus narrowed by 6,645 billion yen to 21,558 billion yen.
  • The net secondary income deficit widened by 135 billion yen to 2,488 billion yen.

 

Trade Balance (April 2022 vs. March 2022)

Net services deficit narrowed by 579 billion yen to 4,094 billion yen.

Net goods deficit widened by 4,242 billion yen to 9,861 billion yen.

  • Net goods exports increased 2,785 billion yen to 79,399 billion yen.
  • Net goods imports increased 7,028 billion yen to 89,260 billion yen.
