UK TRADE BALANCE, APRIL 2022

 

Month-over-month (Apr 2022 vs. Mar 2022, seasonally adjusted )

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit narrowed by £3.0 billion to £8.5 billion. Exports of goods and services increased 4.1% (£2.3 billion) to £58.4 billion, and imports of goods and services decreased 1.1% (£0.8 billion) to £66.9 billion.

The United Kingdom goods trade deficit narrowed by £3.0 billion to £20.9 billion. Exports of goods increased 7.4% (£2.2 billion) to £31.5 billion, and imports of goods decreased 1.6% (£0.8 billion) to £52.4 billion.

The United Kingdom services trade surplus widened by £0.045 billion to £12.390 billion. Exports of services increased 0.5% (£0.1 billion) to £26.9 billion, and imports of services increased 0.6% (£0.09 billion) to £14.5 billion.

Year-over-year (Apr 2022 vs. Apr 2021, seasonally adjusted )

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit changed from a surplus (£0.1 billion) to a deficit (-£8.5 billion). Goods trade deficit widened by £10.4 billion, and services trade surplus widened by £1.8 billion.

 

 

 

 

UNITED KINGDOM TRADING PARTNERS

Month-over-month (Apr 2022 vs. Mar 2022, seasonally adjusted )

The United Kingdom EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £0.2 billion to £9.905 billion. Exports of goods increased 8.1% (£1.2 billion) to £16.4 billion, and imports of goods increased 4.1% (£1.0 billion) to £26.3 billion.

The United Kingdom non-EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £2.8 billion to £10.988 billion. Exports of goods increased 6.5% (£0.9 billion) to £15.0 billion, and imports of goods decreased 6.8% (£1.9 billion) to £26.0 billion.

Year-over-year (Apr 2022 vs. Apr 2021, seasonally adjusted )

The United Kingdom-EU goods trade deficit widened by £4.4 billion, and United Kingdom non-EU goods deficit widened by £6.1 billion.
