EURO AREA CURRENT ACCOUNT, APRIL 2022

Month over month (Apr-22 vs Mar-22, seasonally adjusted)

The European Central Bank reported today that the Euro Area (EA19)

  • Net current account deficit widened by €4.2 billion to €5.8 billion.
  • Net goods and services surplus narrowed by €1.0 billion to €9.0 billion
  • Net primary income changed from a surplus (€0.5 billion) to a deficit (€1.0 billion )
  • Net secondary income deficit widened by €1.6 billion to €13.8 billion

 

Net services surplus narrowed by €2.4 billion to €11.8 billion

Net goods deficit narrowed by €1.4 billion to €2.8 billion

  • Goods exports increased €14.7 billion to €242.7 billion
  • Goods imports increased €13.3 billion to €245.5 billion
