UK TRADE BALANCE, AUGUST 2022

Month-over-month (August 2022 vs July 2022, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit widened by £1.6 billion to £7.1 billion. Exports of goods and services increased 2.2% (£1.4 billion) to £68.2 billion and imports of goods and services increased 4.3% (£3.1 billion) to £75.3 billion.

The United Kingdom goods trade deficit widened by £1.7 billion to £19.3 billion. Exports of goods increased 3.9% (£1.4 billion) to £37.0 billion and imports of goods increased 5.7% (£3.1 billion) to £56.2 billion.

The United Kingdom services trade surplus widened by £0.03 billion to £12.2 billion. Exports of services increased 0.2% (£0.1 billion) to £31.3 billion and imports of services increased 0.1% (£0.02 billion) to £19.1 billion.

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit widened by £1.9 billion. Goods trade deficit widened by £4.3 billion and services trade surplus widened by £2.4 billion.

UNITED KINGDOM TRADING PARTNERS

 

Month-over-month (August 2022 vs July 2022, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £0.3 billion to £8.2 billion. Exports of goods decreased 1.0% (£0.2 billion) to £17.9 billion and imports of goods decreased 1.9% (£0.5 billion) to £26.1 billion.

The United Kingdom non-EU goods trade deficit widened by £2.0 billion to £11.1 billion. Exports of goods increased 9.0% (£1.6 billion) to £19.1 billion and imports of goods increased 13.3% (£3.6 billion) to £30.2 billion.

Year-over-year (August 2022 vs August 2021, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom EU goods trade deficit widened by £1.9 billion and non-EU goods trade deficit widened by £2.5 billion.
