October 19, 2022UK CONSUMER PRICE INDEX, SEPTEMBER 2022 
Year-over-year: UK Consumer Price Index including owner-occupiers' housing costs (CPIH) rose by 8.8% in September 2022, compared with September 2021. The largest contributions to rising UK inflation came from "housing and household services (principally from electricity, gas and other fuels, and owner occupiers' housing costs), food and non-alcoholic beverages and transport (principally motor fuels)."
Year-over-year growth in the UK Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 10.1% in September 2022.
Month over month: CPIH and CPI annual inflation rate continued its increase between August and September 2022 with the largest upward contribution in food prices.
UK inflation has been more volatile than prices in Canada. Over the last year UK prices rose faster than those in Canada and Nova Scotia.
