EU AND EURO AREA RETAIL TRADE, OCTOBER 2022

                                                                                                                                               

Month-over-month (Oct 2022 vs. Sep 2022, seasonally adjusted turnover value)

In the European Union, retail sales were down 0.6%. In the Euro Area, retail sales declined by 0.8%.

 

Year-to-date (Jan-Oct 2022 vs. Jan-Oct 2021, seasonally adjusted turnover value)

In the European Union, retail sales were up 10.6%. In the Euro Area, retail sales were up 9.5%. Where data is available, the strongest growth in year-to-date retail sales occurred in Slovenia (+42.2%), Lithuania (+22.8%) and Bulgaria (+22.7%). The weakest growth was reported in Denmark (+2.7%), Belgium and Finland  (both at +3.8%).
