UK TRADE BALANCE, FEBRUARY 2023

UK Trade Balance

Month-over-month (February 2023 vs January 2023, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit widened by £1.3 billion to £4.8 billion. Exports of goods and services decreased 2.7% (£1.9 billion) to £67.9 billion. Imports of goods and services decreased 0.8% (£0.6 billion) to £72.7 billion.

The United Kingdom goods trade deficit widened by £1.4 billion to £17.5 billion. Exports of goods decreased 6.3% (£2.2 billion) to £32.5 billion. Imports of goods decreased 1.4% (£0.7 billion) to £50.0 billion.

The United Kingdom services trade surplus widened by £0.12 billion to £12.7 billion. Exports of services increased 0.7% (£0.26 billion) to £35.4 billion. Imports of services increased 0.6% (£0.13 billion) to £22.7 billion.

 

Year-over-year (February 2023 vs February 2022, seasonally adjusted)

The United Kingdom goods and services trade deficit narrowed by £6.4 billion. Goods trade deficit narrowed by £4.9 billion and services trade surplus widened by £1.4 billion.

 

 

UNITED KINGDOM TRADING PARTNERS

Month-over-month (February 2023 vs January 2023, seasonally adjusted )

The United Kingdom EU goods trade deficit widened by £1.5 billion to £11.2 billion. Exports of goods decreased 6.8% (£1.1 billion) to £15.3 billion, and imports of goods increased 1.5% (£0.4 billion) to £26.3 billion.

The United Kingdom non-EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £0.1 billion to £6.5 billion. Exports of goods decreased 5.8% (£1.1 billion) to £17.2 billion, and imports of goods decreased 4.5% (£1.1 billion) to £23.7 billion.

 

Year-over-year (February 2023 vs February 2022, seasonally adjusted )

The United Kingdom EU goods trade deficit widened by £2.1 billion and non-EU goods trade deficit narrowed by £7.0 billion.
