US TRADE BALANCE, MARCH 2023

Month over month (March 2023 vs February 2023)

The US net trade deficit narrowed by $6.4 billion to $64.2 billion. The net goods deficit narrowed by $6.4 billion to $86.6 billion. The net services surplus narrowed by $25 million to $22.4 billion.

Exports increased $5.3 billion to $256.2 billion. Exports of goods increased $5.2 billion to $174.3 billion. Exports of services increased $92 million to $81.8 billion.

Imports decreased $1.1 billion to $320.4 billion. Imports of goods decreased $1.2 billion to $260.9 billion. Imports of services increased $116 million to $59.5 billion.

 

Year over year (March 2023 vs March 2022)

The US net trade deficit narrowed by $42.2 billion. The net goods deficit narrowed by $39.3 billion. The net services surplus widened by $3.0 billion.

Total exports increased $12.2 billion. Exports of goods increased $4.3 billion. Exports of services increased $7.9 billion.

Total imports decreased $30.0 billion. Imports of goods decreased $34.9 billion. Imports of services increased $4.9 billion.
