August 01, 2024EU AND EURO AREA UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, JUNE 2024 
Eurostat has reported that the unemployment rate in the Euro Area increased 0.1 percentage points to 6.5% in June 2024. For the broader 27 countries of the entire European Union, the unemployment rate was unchanged at 6.0% in June 2024.
In June, the youth unemployment rate was down to 14.4% (from 14.5% in May) in the European Union and 14.1% (from 14.2% May) in the Euro Area. The unemployment rate for females in the European Union was unchanged at 6.3% while the male unemployment rate was unchanged at 5.8%. The Euro Area unemployment rate for females was up 0.1 percentage points to 6.8% in June 2024 while the Euro Area unemployment rate for males was unchanged at 6.2%.
Among EU member state economies, the June unemployment rates were highest in Spain and Greece. Unemployment rates were lowest in Czechia and Poland.
