Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Canada increased 0.1% in March 2025 following a decrease of 0.2% in February 2025.


Real GDP in Canada's goods producing industries increased 0.2% from February to March 2025.

Real GDP in Canada's services-producing industries increased 0.1% from February to March 2025.

In March 2025, 10 industries reported lower real GDP compared to the previous month. Among broad industries, monthly GDP declines were fastest for management of companies and utilities. The largest gains were reported for mining oil/gas and accomodations/food services.

Year-to-date (January-March 2025 vs January-March 2024)
The Canadian economy was 1.9% larger in January-March 2025 when compared to the same month in 2024.
Real GDP from goods producing industries grew 1.7% as growth in utilities industries as well as mining/oil/gas and agriculture/forestry/fishing offset a decline in manufacturing.
Real GDP from services-producing industries were up 1.9% with gains in most industries. The strongest gains were in finance/insurance and arts/recreation. The steepest decline was in company management (though this is a small industry).
