EU AND EURO AREA RETAIL TRADE, MAY 2022

 

Month-over-month (May 2022 vs April 2022,seasonally adjusted turnover value)

In the European Union, retail sales were up 1.1%.  In the Euro Area, retail sales were up 1.3%.

Year-to-date (Jan-May-2022 vs Jan-May 2021,seasonally adjusted turnover value)

In the European Union, retail sales were up 11.4%. In the Euro Area, retail sales were up 10.2%. Where data is available, the strongest growth in year-to-date retail sales occurred in Slovenia (41.7%) and Lithuania (26.5%). The weakest growth was reported in Belgium (2.4%) and Finland (3.6%).
