- Labour Force decreased 0.1 per cent (-700) from January 2019 to 498,500 and increased 0.8 per cent (3,900) over February 2018.
- Employment increased 0.3 per cent (1,400) from January 2019 to 466,500 and increased 2.4 per cent (10,800) over February 2018.
- Unemployment decreased 6.1 per cent (-2,100) from January 2019 to 32,100 and decreased 17.5 per cent (-6,800) over February 2018.
- Unemployment rate decreased 0.5 percentage points from January 2019 to 6.4 per cent.
In Canada February 2019, (seasonally-adjusted, month-over-month and year-over-year):
- Labour Force increased 0.3 per cent (55,100) from January 2019 to 20,091,000 and increased 1.9 per cent (380,300) over February 2018.
- Employment increased 0.3 per cent (55,900) from January 2019 to 18,929,800 and increased 2.0 per cent (369,100) over February 2018.
- Unemployment decreased 0.1 per cent (-700) from January 2019 to 1,161,300 and increased 1.0 per cent (11,300) over February 2018.
- Unemployment rate remains virtually unchanged from January 2019 at 5.8 per cent.
In Halifax February 2019, (3 month moving average, seasonally-adjusted):
- Labour Force decreased 0.2% (-600) from January 2019 to 249,800 and increased 1.4% (3,400) over February 2018.
- Employment remains virtually unchanged (0) from January 2019 at 237,600 and increased 3.1% (7,100) over February 2018.
- Unemployment decreased 4.7% (-600) from January 2019 to 12,200 and decreased 23.3% (-3,700) over February 2018.
- Unemployment rate decreased 0.2 percentage points from January 2019 to 4.9%.
