Florence Beach Designation
made under subsection 5(1) of the
Beaches Act

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 13th day of July, A.D., 1976, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Florence Beach, in the County of Cape Breton, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-5-54, marked Schedule “B” and described in Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.
Schedule “A”
All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Florence Beach, in the County of Cape Breton, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on a copy of Plan No. E-5-54 attached hereto, filed in the Crown Land Records Office, Halifax, and being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a concrete monument situate north eighty-two degrees eighteen minutes west a distance of nine hundred forty-eight decimal two feet from Municipal Survey Control Monument No. 7;
From thence (by astronomic bearings) north forty-five degrees thirty-seven minutes west two thousand ninety-five feet to a concrete monument situate on lands now or formerly owned by the Dominion Coal Company;
Thence south thirty-three degrees twenty-two minutes west eight hundred ninety feet to a point situate in the waters of Little Pond;
Thence south thirty-seven degrees sixteen minutes east one thousand three hundred fifty-three feet to a point situate in the waters of Little Pond;
Thence north seventy-three degrees five minutes east six hundred eighty-eight decimal nine feet to a concrete monument situate on lands now or formerly owned by L. E. Shaw Limited;
Thence continuing north seventy-three degrees five minutes east five hundred thirty-one decimal one feet to the place of beginning;
Excepting and reserving from the above described area of land all the portion thereof lying seaward from the mean high watermark.
