Lower Cove Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 75-710 (June 17, 1975), N.S. Reg. 153/75


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 26th day of May, A.D., 1975, pursuant to subsection (1) of Section 5 of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Lower Cove Beach, in the County of Cumberland, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan No. E-10-8, and described in Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.


All that certain area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Lower Cove Beach, in the County of Cumberland, Province of Nova Scotia as shown outlined in red on Plan No. E-10-8 filed in the Crown Land Records Office, Halifax and being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at point “A” as shown on said Plan E-10-8, said point being on a prolongation of the southerly edge of the Joggins government wharf at a point one hundred (100) feet more or less from the mean high watermark of Chignecto Bay;


From thence in a direct line to point “B” as shown on said Plan E-10-8, said point being at the intersection of the most southerly edge of the aforementioned Joggins government wharf with the mean high waterline of Chignecto Bay;


Thence northerly as shown on said Plan No. E-10-8 following the several courses of the mean high watermark of Chignecto Bay to Crown Survey Post No. C 1415;


Thence following the Crown boundary line which leads from Crown Survey Post No. C 1415 to Crown Survey Post No. C 1414 to a point “C” located one hundred feet landward from the mean high watermark of Chignecto Bay;


Thence southerly as shown on said plan following the several courses of a line described as being landward one hundred feet and parallel to the mean high watermark of Chignecto Bay to the place of beginning.
