Dangerous Goods Transportation Regulations made under Section 16 of the
Dangerous Goods Transportation Act

as amended up to O.I.C. 2002-361A (August 15, 2002), N.S. Reg. 105/20021 These regulations may be cited as the Dangerous Goods Transportation Regulations.
Section 1 added: O.I.C. 2002-361A, N.S. Reg. 105/2002.1A In these regulations
(a) "Act" means the Dangerous Goods Transportation Act;
(b) "Federal Regulations" means the English version, exclusive of the provisions dealing with radioactive materials, of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations (Canada), SOR/2001-286 as amended from time to time, made under the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act (Canada).

Section 1 renumbered 1A: O.I.C. 2002-361A, N.S. Reg. 105/2002.2 The safety requirements, safety standards and safety marks set out in the Federal Regulations are prescribed for the purpose of Section 5 of the Act and the Federal Regulations shall have the same force and effect as if made by the Governor in Council.
3 No person shall transport dangerous goods on a highway under circumstances where the transportation is prohibited in the Federal Regulations.
4 No person shall transport dangerous goods in or on a vehicle on a highway where a direction has been given under the Federal Regulations in respect of that transportation except in accordance with the direction.
5 For the purposes of these regulations,
(a) "inspector" when used in the Federal Regulations includes an inspector appointed under Section 7 of the Act; and
(b) "means of transportation" when used in the Federal Regulations means a vehicle or combination of vehicles.
6 These regulations come into force on the 1st day of November, 1985.
7 The certificate of appointment as inspector to be furnished to an inspector pursuant to subsection (1) of Section 8 of the Act shall be in the form set out as Form 1 in the Schedule to these regulations or to like effect.
