I, Kent Smith, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture for the Province of Nova Scotia, pursuant to Section 56 of Chapter 25 of the Acts of 1996, the Fisheries and Coastal Resources Act (the “Act”), hereby designate 53 areas of subaquatic land under marine waters and their water columns, described in Appendix A and identified in green as Individual ADA Marine Areas with corresponding respective ID numbers 8001 to 8053 on the map attached as Appendix B, as an aquaculture development area for shellfish aquaculture and marine plant aquaculture to be known as the Municipality of the District of Argyle Aquaculture Development Area.


As required by subsection 56(5) of the Act, a copy of the plan and description of the area designated shall be registered in the registry of deeds for the county or district in which the area is located.


This designation is effective on and after the later of the date it is approved by the Governor in Council and the date a copy of the plan and description is registered in the registry of deeds.

Description of the Municipality of the District of Argyle Aquaculture Development Area


All those certain areas of subaquatic land under marine waters and their water columns located in the County of Yarmouth, Province of Nova Scotia, being more particularly described in a plan and description registered in the registry of deeds for the county or district in which the area is located, containing a total area of 784 hectares more or less.
