I, Tory Rushton, Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables for the Province of Nova Scotia, pursuant to subsection 12D(1) of Chapter 323 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Off-highway Vehicles Act (the “Act”), and in accordance with Section 4 of the Off-highway Vehicles Designated Trails and Trail Permits Regulations made under the Act, hereby designate portions of public highways located on land owned by His Majesty the King in Right of the Province of Nova Scotia under the administration and control of the Minister of Public Works at various locations in the Province of Nova Scotia shown in bold line on the maps attached in Schedule “A,” filed at the Department of Natural Resources and Renewables, as off-highway vehicle trails for the purpose of the Snow Vehicles Pilot Project Regulations made under the Motor Vehicle Act.


This designation is effective on and after the date it is filed and expires on December 1, 2024, unless it is revoked at an earlier time.

Location of Proposed Designated Trails


Appendix A: New Germany Area


Beginning at a point where the former rail bed intersects with Maple Drive, New Germany (near fire hall), Lunenburg County, at coordinates east 363164, north 4934130. Then southwest crossing Highway 10 and travelling 210 m to the intersection of Highway 10 and Varner Road, coordinates east 363012, north 4934000.

Appendix B: Margaree Centre Area


Beginning at a point on Cranton Cross Road, Margaree Centre, Inverness County, at coordinates north 46203193, west 60594578. Travelling northwest on Cranton Cross Road 160 m to coordinates north 4634208, west 6099601.

Appendix C: Big Intervale Area


Three sections of road:

 

1.       Beginning at a point on East Big Intervale Road, Kingross, Inverness County, at coordinates north 4626483, west 6055096, travelling north on East Big Intervale Road to Kingross Cross Road for 200 m. Turn left on Kingross Cross Road at coordinates north 4626547, west 6055087, travelling west 730 m on Kingross Cross Road to the intersection of West Big Intervale Road.

 

2.       Beginning at the intersection of Kingross Cross Road and West Big Intervale Road, Kingross, Inverness County, at coordinates north 4626547, west 6055087. Travelling north on West Big Intervale Road for 2.4 km to Chemin Pembroke Road (K-class), at coordinates north 4628083, west 6055088.

 

3.       Beginning at the intersection of Kingross Cross Road and West Big Intervale Road, Kings Cross [Kingross], Inverness County, at coordinates north 4626547, west 6055087. Travelling south for 3.2 km to just past the Big Intervale Fishing Lodge at coordinates north 4625313, west 6056494 to the end of the maintained portion of West Big Intervale Road.
