Waterside Beach Provincial Park Designation
made under Section 8 of the
Provincial Parks Act

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 7th day of May, A.D., 1980, pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:
(a) constitute all that area of land situate near Waterside, in the County of Pictou, owned by Her Majesty in the right of the Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, the said area of land being described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan No. E-9-60 marked Schedule “B”, excepting the road shown shaded in green on Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and
(b) declare that the park shall be known by the name of “Waterside Beach Provincial Park”.
Schedule “A”
All those certain three lots, pieces or parcels of land situate, lying and being near Waterside, in the County of Pictou, in the Province of Nova Scotia as shown on Plan No. E-9-60 filed in the Crown Lands Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests Halifax, and being more particularly described as follows:
Lot “A”
Beginning at Crown Land Iron Post No. P1844 situate on the northern boundary of the Shore Road and being (by grid bearings referred to the Nova Scotia 3° Modified Transverse Mercator Projection, Zone 4, central meridian 61° 30' west longitude) N 78° 38' 18" E, a distance of 209.87' from Nova Scotia Co-ordinate Monument No. 6629;
Thence (from the place of beginning) in a southeasterly direction along the northern boundary of the Shore Road a distance of 1550', more or less, to a point situate where the northwestern boundary of the R. Grant Road intersects the northeastern boundary of the said Shore Road;
Thence in a northeasterly direction along the northwestern boundary of the R. Grant Road a distance of 880', more or less, to a point situate at the top of a bank;
Thence in a southeasterly direction along the top of the aforesaid bank a distance of 300', more or less, to Crown Land Iron Post No. P1841 marking the northeastern corner of a cemetery;
Thence S 10° 56' 14" W along the eastern boundary of the said cemetery, a distance of 168.71' to Crown Land Iron Post No. P1840;

Thence in a westerly direction along the approximate mean high water mark of the Northumberland Strait, a distance of 2098' more or less, to Crown Land Iron Post No. P1842 marking a southeastern corner of lands now or formerly of James MacDonald;
Thence N 88° 34' 30" W along a southern boundary of the aforesaid James MacDonald lands, a distance of 1638.76' to Crown Land Iron Post No. P1843;
Thence S 00° 49' 12" W, a distance of 1002.42' to the place of beginning.
The above described Lot “A” containing 145 acres, more or less.
Excepting and reserving from the above described Lot “A” the parcel of land shown shaded in green commonly known as the Caribou Island Road.
Lot “B”
Beginning at Crown Land Iron Post No. P1845 situate on the southern boundary of the Shore Road and marking the northeastern corner of lands now or formerly of Walter Sutherland and being (by grid bearings referred to the Nova Scotia 3° Modified Transverse Mercator Projection, Zone 4, central meridian 61° 30' west longitude) S 55° 53' 11" E, a distance of 199.78' from Crown Land Iron Post No. P1844;
Thence (from the place of beginning) S 00° 50' 48" W along the eastern boundary of the Walter Sutherland lands, a distance of 830.12' to Crown Land Iron Post No. P1846 situate on the northern boundary of the R. Grant Road;
Thence in a northeasterly direction along the northern boundary of the R. Grant Road, a distance of 1250', more or less, to a point situate on the southwestern boundary of the Shore Road;

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Natural Resources dated the 15th day of April, A.D., 1994, pursuant to Section 8(b) of Chapter 367 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Provincial Parks Act, and to Section 16(1)(a) of Chapter 114 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Crown Lands Act, is pleased to:
(a) decrease the size of the Waterside Beach Provincial Park, in the County of Pictou, so constituted by Order in Council 80-666, dated the 20th day of May, A.D., 1980, by withdrawing from the park of a parcel of Crown land containing approximately 0.5374 acres and shown outlined in bold line on the plan marked Schedule “A”, attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and
(b) approve the issuance of a deed by the Minister of Natural Resources to convey the said parcel of Crown land containing approximately 0.5374 acres and shown outlined in bold line on the said Schedule “A” to the Waterside Cemetery, a body corporate registered pursuant to the Cemetery Companies Act and with its head office at Waterside, in the County of Pictou, for the nominal consideration of One Dollar ($1.00) plus all costs as defined by the Minister of Natural Resources, and to authorize the Minister of Natural Resources to execute such documents as may be necessary to achieve the purposes of this Order.
