Liscomb Game Sanctuary Designation made under Section 113 of the
Wildlife Act
R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 504
O.I.C. 83-766 (July 19, 1983), N.S. Reg. 160/83
The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 21st day of June, A. D., 1983, and pursuant to Section 161(1) of Chapter 163 or the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Lands and Forests Act, as amended, and 2Section 18(f) of Chapter 151 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Interpretation Act, is pleased:
(a) to repeal, effective the 30th day of June, A. D., 1983, an Order in Council dated the 9th day of August, A. D., 1928; two Orders in Council dated the 15th day of September, A. D., 1944; and an Order in Council dated the 28th day of August, A. D., 1959, respecting the area declared to be Liscomb Game Sanctuary and regulations applying thereto;
(b) to declare, effective the 21st day July, A. D., 1983, the area described in Schedule "A" and shown outlined in red on Schedule "B", both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation, to be a game sanctuary, to be known as the Liscomb Game Sanctuary; and
(c) to make, effective the 21st day of July, A. D., 1983, regulations in the form set forth in Schedule "C" attached to the report and recommendation, for the control of the Liscomb Game Sanctuary and the protection of wildlife therein.

Schedule "A" All that certain piece, parcel or lot of land, situate in the Counties of Halifax and Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia to be declared a game sanctuary pursuant to Section 161(1) of Chapter 163 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Lands and Forests Act, the said sanctuary to be know as the Liscomb Game Sanctuary and more fully described as follows and shown outlined in red on the plan marked Schedule "B" attached hereto.
Starting at a post and stone in Halifax County near Lochaber Mines where the old Tote Road to Fifteen Mile Stream joins the road along the Twelve Mile Stream to Union Dam;
Thence following the old Fifteen Mile Stream road to its crossing of the Cross or North Lake Stream to a post and stones;
Thence following along the southern shore of said stream to Cross or North Lake;
Thence following the northern shore of Cross or North lake to said lake’s most easterly point, marked by post and stones;
Thence easterly across country to a post and stones on the Salmon River;
Thence following the southern shore of said river to the inlet of Toadfish Brook;
Thence northerly along the western shore of Toadfish Brook to Toadfish Lake;
Thence along the western shore of Toad fish Lake to the inlet of Toadfish Brook;
Thence along the western shore of Toadfish Brook to a post and stones;
Thence across country easterly to a post and stones on the Silver Pond Brook;
Thence easterly along the northern shore of Silver Pond Brook to Long Lake on the Moser’s River;
Thence following the western and northeastern shore of Long Lake to the inlet of Square Lake Brook;
Thence following the northern shore of Square Lake Brook to Square Lake;
Thence following the northern and eastern shore of Square Lake to a post and stones;
Thence easterly across country to a post and stones on Boggy Lake on the Malapseketch River;
Thence following the northern shore of Boggy Lake to the Tote Road between Boggy Lake and Middle Lake;
Thence following said Tote Road to Middle Lake;
Thence along the western shore of Middle Lake to the Malapseketch River, crossing said river;
Thence following the eastern shore of Malapseketch River to Malapseketch Lake;
Thence following the southern and eastern shore of said lake to its most northerly point to a post and stones;
Thence northwesterly across country to a post and stones at the most southerly point of Hunting Lake on the west branch of the Liscomb River;
Thence along the northeastern shore of Hunting Lake to the inlet;
Thence following northwesterly along the northern shore of the West Branch Liscomb River to Rocky or Rush Lake;
Thence along the eastern shore of said lake to the inlet;
Thence northerly along the eastern shore of the West Branch Liscomb River to Big Liscomb Lake;
Thence westerly along the southern shore of Liscomb Lake to the inlet of Hungry Lake Brook;
Thence westerly along the northern shore of Hungry Lake Brook to Hungry Lake;
Thence along the southwestern shore of Hungry Lake to a post and stones;
Thence westerly across country to a post and stones on the most easterly point of Bruin Lake;
Thence along the southern shore of Bruin Lake to the outlet;
Thence along the northern shore of Bruin Lake Brook to First Rocky Lake;
Thence along the northern shore of First Rocky Lake to the north cove of said lake;
Thence along the shore of said cove to the second small brook entering said cove;
Thence westerly along the northern shore of said small brook to a post and stones;
Thence across country to a post and stones on the eastern cove of Caribou Lake;
Thence along the northern shore of Caribou Lake to the Tote Road, from the old Guysboro[ugh] Road;
Thence northerly along the said Tote Road to the old Guysboro[ugh] Road;
Thence westerly along the old Guysboro[ugh] Road to where it crosses South Lake Brook of the St. Mary’s River;
Thence westerly along the northern shore of South Lake Brook to the Tote Road from Trafalgar to Governor Lake;
Thence following said Tote Road to a post and stones at the most northerly point of Little Lake;
Thence southerly along the eastern shore of Little Lake and Governor Lake to the outlet;
Thence southerly and easterly along the western and southern shore of the Twelve Mile Stream to Union Dam;
Thence following the outlet from Union Dam to where said outlet joins the Twelve Mile Stream;
Thence along the southern and eastern shore of the Twelve Mile Stream to a post and stones where the road from Union Dam to Lochaber crosses said stream;
Thence southerly and easterly along said Road to the point of beginning.
Excepting and reserving from the above area all that portion of a provincial highway running through the sanctuary, the said provincial highway extending from Sheet Harbour, in the County of Halifax, Province of Nova Scotia to Trafalgar, in the County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia and being more fully identified as Highway No. 431 in the County of Halifax and Highway No. 569 in the County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia and shown outlined in green on the plan attached hereto as Schedule "B".
