Commodity Group Designation and Levy - Horticulture Nova Scotia

made under Section 46 of the
Agriculture and Marketing Act
R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 6
N.S. Reg. 61/98 (August 12, 1998)
as amended by N.S. Reg. 43/99 (April 9, 1999)

Whereas Part F, Section 46 of Chapter 6 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, [the] Agriculture and Marketing Act, as amended provides that the Minister by Order may designate a body of a specific agricultural product as a commodity group;

The Minister of Agriculture and Marketing hereby orders that the Association called Horticulture Nova Scotia is a designated commodity group; and

declares that the already established strawberry check off (levy) of $5 per 1000 strawberry nursery plants is to be collected by Horticulture Nova Scotia Incorporated March 11, 1998 replacing the NS Berry Crop Association; and

further declares that the strawberry check off (levy) to be $10 per 1000 strawberry nursery plants, to be collected by Horticulture Nova Scotia effective November 1, 1998.
[N.S. Reg. 43/99 declares that the by-law authorizing the increase to $10 was not validly passed.]
