Nova Scotia is home to 12 species of reptiles and 13 species of amphibians. Each are wonderfully adapted to thrive in the province’s diverse habitats. These animals can handle Nova Scotia’s harsh weather but face other threats to their survival. Having the opportunity to observe these animals in their natural habitats is always exciting. Help to support our provincial amphibians and reptiles by:
- Not feeding or handling them
- Keeping pets on a leash
- Driving slowly and being aware of animals crossing the road
