IMAGE INFORMATION

Five Mi'kmaq women, three of them wearing high-crowned beaver hats, one of them making a woodsplint basket, three children, a man in a white blanket-coat and tuque, two canoes and four wigwams make up this camp scene, with a fire and two dogs for company. The canoe shapes are wildly approximate. Note that one of the women has ostrich feathers on her hat, a circular trade-silver brooch fastening her jacket, and a beaded pouch in her hand.
