Jerry Lonecloud was often interviewed by Clara Dennis (the photographer), for the Halifax Herald, where she was a reporter, and for material eventually to be included in her travel books about Nova Scotia. This photograph and the one immediately following seem to have been taken in the garden of a Dennis residence, as the same house porch and iron fence appear in Dennis's scrapbook of old family photographs. This is possibly Dennis's own home at 45 Coburg Road, Halifax (now destroyed). Lonecloud died in April 1930.
