IMAGE INFORMATION

Ruby Williams was the daughter of John and Madeleine Thomas Williams. Joseph Howe was apparently the son of John Jeremy, a Mi'kmaq befriended by Indian Agent Joseph Howe, who then named his son after Howe. Later the son dropped the surname Jeremy, and just went by Howe. This photograph was taken 9 June 1929. [Max Basque to R.H. Whitehead, personal communication, July 1977; Richard Walsh to R.H. Whitehead, personal communication, May 1992.]
