Gabriel Sylliboy, photographed in July 1930, was the son of Mary Barrington (widow of Benjamin Basque) and her second husband, a Sylliboy. He was born ca 1864. A well-known and respected Grand Chief, he died in 1964 in Eskasoni, having moved there from Whycocomagh in 1942. He was survived by three sons and five daughters. [Chronicle-Herald.
