IMAGE INFORMATION

This is an exquisite rendering of an ocean-going canoe, with its hogged shear and incised decoration. Only one such canoe survives today, in the Museum für Volkerkunde, Vienna, Austria; and this is one of the few good illustrations of that type of craft. Note the single tiny house at painting's upper right corner.
