This group of Mi'kmaq was photographed between 15 and 21 July 1923, during the re-enactment and celebration of the 1773 landing of Scottish settlers at Pictou. Left to right: Martha Francis, her mother Agnes Francis, and her father Chief Matthew Francis, of Pictou Landing; with former chief Peter Wilmot of Pictou Landing, holding a cane. Wilmot was 97 years old at the time; he lived to be 106.
