John Thomas was the half-brother of Chief Matthew Francis of Pictou Landing. His wife was Bessie Prosper. She died in the 1960s. This couple was photographed 15-21 July 1923, during the re-enactment and celebration of the 1773 landing of Scottish settlers at Pictou.
