The fish-smoking rack. Hot coals will be placed underneath, damped down with leaves to create smoke, and the rack itself will be covered with hides to keep the smoke in. At the request of the Micmac Association for Cultural Studies, during the course of 1980-1981, the Nova Scotia Museum, Learning Resources & Technology, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Halifax, produced MI'KMAQ, a television series on Mi'kmaq life circa 1400 A.D. Taken in August of 1980, during the taping of what became the Wedding Episode.
