Why do shipwrecks happen?

Nova Scotia's coastline has some of the highest concentrations of shipwrecks in North America. This database records almost 5000 out of an estimated 10,000 to 25,000 wrecks. There are several clear reasons for this high concentration of shipwrecks:

1 - Location

2 - War

3 - Rocky Coastline

4 - Weather

5 - Poor Navigation
