Ash Tree
This hardwood tree is a White
Ash. Its wood is a favoured source of baseball bats and hockey sticks.
This wood has the ability to bend and absorb shock without breaking.
It is also used for bentwood furniture, snowshoes and tennis rackets.
Another ash species is highly valued by the Mi’kmaq
for their traditional basketry.
