The total field bouguer gravity and residual bouguer gravity map images were produced from data contained in Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources, Open File Report ME 1995-005. Gravity station spacing is variable throughout the map sheet and artifacts related to station spacing may be present in the final map image. The total field data set contains the cumulative measured response from surface features to upper crustal sources. The residual gravity image was derived from the total field data by subtracting long-wavelength (~> 8-10 km) signal from the total field data to enhance near surface (< 5 km) features. Station spacing restricts grid cell size to 500 m, which restricts near surface spatial resolution in the published map image.
The 24-bit colour map images were produced with a 25 m pixel size. Shading was from the southeast at 35 degrees above the horizon. For complete details please refer to Open File Report ME 2003-3 by King.

The data files have been compressed using PKZIP into a single, self-extracting EXE file.
The EXE file can also be opened in WinZip to view and extract the compressed files in the data set.
On UNIX platforms, the unzip command will extract the compressed files in the EXE.
All data sets are in six-degree Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Zone 20 projection using the NAD83 datum. A readme file and a copy of the licence agreement are also included with each data set.
