Deer and Bear Trail Camera Survey

The Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources is asking trail camera operators to provide important information to help in the management of white-tailed deer and black bears. You could win a top quality trail camera!

Introduction:

The use of trail cameras to monitor wildlife movement has increased dramatically in Nova Scotia in recent years.  This has created a whole new source of wildlife information that has the potential to be one of the best sources of big game population information available.  A survey like this one offers an opportunity for anyone who owns a trail camera to participate.

Three Chances to win a trail camera:
  1. All individuals who complete the Trail Camera Survey will be entered into a draw for a highly rated, top of the line, high definition trail camera.
  2. Photo Competition- White-tailed Deer
  3. A trail camera will be awarded to the best white-tailed deer trail camera photo submission. Only photos taken, with a trail camera in Nova Scotia, during the survey period (September 1/17 to December 10/17) and that have a corresponding completed Trail Camera Survey will be included in the photo competition.
  4. Photo Competition- Black Bear A trail camera will be awarded to the best black bear trail camera photo submission.  Only photos taken, with a trail camera in Nova Scotia, during the survey period (September 1/17 to December 10/17) and that have a corresponding completed Trail Camera Survey will be included in the photo competition.
