How to Nominate a Woodlot Owner - Eligibility Criteria

Any resident of Nova Scotia who owns between 20 hectares (50 acres) and 800 hectares (2,000 acres) of woodland in Nova Scotia is eligible who is not:


  • a current employee of the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources.

  • a regional winner in the last three years.

  • a provincial winner in the last ten years.

Winners must agree to participate in the contest and to the publication of their names, photo and story on their woodlot achievements if they are chosen as regional or provincial winner. They must also agree to cooperate with Department of Natural Resources staff in hosting a field day and tour on their woodlot should one be held. Nomination forms   are available online.
