Moose Draw Applications Available April 1

Natural Resources Minister Kennie MacAskill announced today that applications for the 1999 moose licence lottery will be available at all Department of Natural Resources offices April 1. The application form will also be available at the department's homepage: http://www.gov.ns.ca/natr/wildlife/index.htm .

The deadline for receipt of applications is 4:30 p.m., Thursday, May 27. The draw will be held Wednesday, June 30. A time and place will be announced.

The season will run for 12 days in early to mid-October. The dates will be announced once they have been finalized. Hunting is not permitted on Sundays.

Two hundred licences will be available for the 1999 season, which will take place in Inverness and Victoria Counties in Cape Breton.

The application fee for the draw is $5.75, including tax. The licence costs $57.50, including tax.
