Site Stabilization

Justice

The former site of the new forensic hospital and correctional facility in Bedford will undergo stabilization work this week.

Crews will be on site preparing the area for the heavy wind/rain season expected in September, in accordance with a stabilization plan approved by the Department of Environment.

The work is necessary to ensure the safety of the site, and to prevent run-off into the surrounding lakes. The work will involve grading exposed soil areas, brush removal, roadwork, hydro-seeding and drainage improvements. It is expected to take approximately three weeks and will be completed by Read Management.
