Natural Resources Licensing Branch to Move

Natural Resources (to July 2018)

Beginning Monday, Oct. 23, licences can be purchased in downtown Halifax at the Service Nova Scotia office on the nineth floor of the Maritime Centre, 1505 Barrington St.

Responsibility for the sale of hunting and fishing licences will be transferred to Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations from the Department of Natural Resources starting next week.

"We want to provide government service that makes sense to the public. Moving responsibility for the sale of hunting and fishing licences to Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations with other similar services accomplishes that goal," said Natural Resources Minister Ernest Fage.

The change will have no effect on where licences can be purchased elsewhere in Halifax or across the province. About 700 vendors who currently sell hunting and fishing licences in Nova Scotia will continue to do so.

Vendors, however, will now deal with the Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations office in the Maritime Centre regarding the sale of licences.
