Moose-Draw Application Deadline Approaches

Natural Resources (to July 2018)

The deadline for moose licence applications in Nova Scotia is fast approaching. The 1-900 application line will officially close to applicants at midnight on May 31.

Hunters can call 1-900-565-3337 to enter the draw. The lines are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All applicants should have their Firearm Hunting Certificate or Bowhunting Certificate numbers on hand when they call.

This phone line is not for inquiries; a non-refundable application fee of $6.90 will be charged each time it is called. All inquiries should be directed to Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations at 902-424-4821 or any Department of Natural Resources office, before calling the 1-900 number.

A public draw to determine the successful applicants will take place on June 22 at 12:30 p.m. at Strathlorne Nursery in Inverness County. The season dates for this year’s moose hunt will be announced at that time.

To date, 7,995 applications have been received. Last year, more than 13,000 people applied for the moose draw, with 200 licences being issued.
