Name of Inmate Released

Russell James Feltmate, a 43-year old resident of Goshen, Guysborough Co., has been identified as the inmate who died this morning in St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish.

Mr. Feltmate was rushed to hospital Thursday night when staff found him unconscious in his cell at the Antigonish Correctional Centre, which is a minimum security facility. The Department of Justice, RCMP and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner continue to investigate. RCMP say the death does not appear to be the result of foul play.

Mr. Feltmate had been nearing the end of a 60-day sentence for breach of probation. He was scheduled to be held in custody on other charges until July 23. No other details will be released until the investigations are complete.
