Port Hawkesbury Offices Moving

Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations (Oct. 2000 - March 2014)

Better and more convenient access to government services is coming to the residents of the Port Hawkesbury area. Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations announced today, April 12, that its Registry of Motor Vehicles and Consumer Services offices are moving to the former vocational school at 400 Reeves St.

As of Monday, April 15, the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV), is moving from its Old Sydney Highway Road location and Consumer Services is moving from the Provincial Building to the new location. There will be no disruption in services.

"This relocation will improve customer service by providing more of our services under one roof," said Angus MacIsaac, Minister of Service Nova Scotia and Municipal Relations. "The former vocational school location is a far more convenient and spacious facility for both customers and staff."

The RMV and Consumer Services office will provide a complete range of government services including licensing, registrations, driver's examinations, debtor assistance and residential tenancies.

"There is always a high volume of traffic at the Registry of Motor Vehicles and those people will now be able to access more of the department's programs in one trip," said Joyce MacDougall, manager of the Port Hawkesbury office. "We will continue to provide our usual high standard of service to residents in the Port Hawkesbury area."

The new mailing address for the Registry of Motor Vehicles and Consumer Services office is 400 Reeves St., Port Hawkesbury, N.S., B9A 2R5.

The hours of operation for Consumer Services are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., from Monday to Friday. The office is closed daily from noon to 1 p.m.

The hours of operation for the Registry of Motor Vehicles are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on Monday and Tuesday; and from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
