SERVICE N.S./MUNICIPAL RELATIONS--Candidates' Disclosure Forms Due

Candidates in October's municipal and school board elections are reminded that they must file their campaign finance disclosure forms by Wednesday, Dec. 15.

Nova Scotia's municipal elections officer, Janet Willwerth, said the forms must contain the name and address of each person who contributed more than $50 to a candidate since the previous municipal election.

"This is a requirement of the Municipal Elections Act," Ms. Willwerth said. "The forms must be signed by the candidate and submitted within 60 days of the election. As the elections were held Oct. 16, the deadline is Dec. 15."

Ms. Willwerth said council candidates' forms must be filed with their respective municipal clerk, and in the case of school board candidates, with the secretary of the school board.
